Dr. Cown received her doctoral degree in clinical psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology/Argosy University in Atlanta, Georgia. She completed her clinical internship at Greystone Park Psychiatric Hospital in Morris Plains, New Jersey. She has extensive experience in providing counseling for depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, grief and grieving, and personality disorders.
Dr. Cown has conducted psychological evaluations and assessments in both inpatient and outpatient settings with adult, senior, and forensic populations. She received additional training in the area of psychological evaluation and neuropsychological assessment on adults and seniors. Her background also includes work in couples and family therapy. She has conducted research in the area of attachment styles of adults as they relate to interpersonal relationships. Additional research includes assessing the level of defensive response styles of police officer applicants in pre-employment screening.
Dr. Cown has been an adjunct Professor of Psychology at a community college for three years. She very much enjoys the opportunity to share and provide knowledge to others regarding the history and field of Psychology.
