John Arnold, Ph.D., CCTP

Dr. Arnold is a Licensed Provisional Psychologist who earned his master’s degree in Psychology from Ohio State University in 2011, and his doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology from Ohio University in 2013. His internship was completed at the Applewood Rehabilitation Center, a substance abuse treatment center associated with Ohio University. He is also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.

Dr. Arnold has previous experience in individual, couples, and family counseling with adolescents, adults, and seniors. Parenting, adolescent behavior, physical health/ medical issues and well-being, sexual issues and dysfunctions, substance abuse, depression, anxiety and trauma are some of his special interest areas. He can provide Virtual Reality (VR) therapy for relaxation, desensitization and trauma. He also worked as a National Certified Paramedic for 12 years prior to pursuing his PhD. Dr. Arnold is active in our community with coaching youth sports, and volunteering for a local food bank and community clean up.

Dr. Arnold will, upon request, work in conjuction with his therapy dog Nora. Nora is reqistered with the ADA as a PTSD/Trauma service canine. Her services can be particularly helpful in working with patients who experience PTSD, trauma, anxiety and specific dog phobias. Nora works with individuals of all ages, children through seniors.
